Union Square

Union Square is a public plaza bordered by Stockton, Powell, and Geary streets in downtown San Francisco, California. Also referred to as the central shopping theater and hotel core because it surrounds the plaza for several blocks. The name Union Square was derived for the rallies of Thomas Starr King in support of the Union Army during the American Civil War. Earning its designation as California Historical Landmark.
